The International Sugar Council at its session on Friday 29 November 2013 appointed José Orive (Guatemala) as the new Executive Director of the International Sugar Organization.

Birgit Myrie joined the ISO in 1991, as PA to the Executive Director, a few years after graduating from Leeds University with a degree in history. She has worked as PA to two Executive Directors during her time at the ISO, first to Alfredo Ricart until 1993 and then since 1994 for Dr. Peter Baron. Her responsibilities include organising the day to day running of the Executive Director’s office, liaising with diplomatic missions, diary management, credentials, travel, event planning and other secretarial tasks.
Maureen from Ghana joined the ISO in September 2005. Maureen is
reponsible for the Publications Division which includes marketing,
publishing, sales plus developing and maintaining the ISO website.
Catherine Roussière, a French national, started working for the ISO in June 1991 and after assuming various duties (Translation department, P.A. to the Chief Economics & Statistics Division, Publications & Website officer) is now working as P.A. to the Head of Finance & Administration
Ivete from Cuba has a bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences from Havana University. Before joining the ISO in 2003, she led the team who developed the Statistical System of the Organization. Since she is with us, she is responsible for our Statistical Database Systems.
Sylvain has worked for 14 years in the catering industry before joining the ISO in April 2009. His main duties include printing all official ISO publications, posting, as well as ensuring the maintenance of the IT hardware. French being his mother tongue, he has also some knowledge of Spanish. He's passionate about food and service.
